About Us
Gedit was formed as a result of frustrating student-teacher relationships that we had witnessed and experienced during our academic and professional careers. While many students feel uncomfortable expressing where they are struggling to their teachers, teachers often have no idea why. Our time in graduate school at Harvard helped build a team from around the globe to work towards a shared vision of what education and classroom culture should feel like for both teachers and students.
At Gedit, we understand how important the student-teacher relationship is. Without a positive experience in the classroom, students can lose interest in their studies and the efforts of teachers can go to waste. We want to prevent this from happening with Gedit – a communication platform where students can relay their feelings about lessons with confidence that their voices will be heard.

We have created an easy-to-use platform for teachers to run polls in each of their classes and gather important data on a variety of areas including how students feel about their understanding of lesson content, teaching practices, and diversity. Educators are busy and their time is limited, however, with Gedit teachers can gauge and address student understanding about what is taught to get clear and digestible analysis presented on our dashboard. Most importantly, teachers can follow the student journey over time allowing them to better understand how students are doing and the impact of any interventions.
When designing Gedit, we kept both teachers and students at the forefront, and focussed on developing a smooth channel of communication with polls that are easy to create, distribute, and complete. Polls can also be customised using the exclusive question bank we have developed with input from teachers and research.
We want to optimize teaching and learning by increasing teacher understanding of their students whilst ensuring no student is left behind. We want teachers to know when students think their practice might need adjusting, a topic needs readdressing, or when they’re feeling left out. With Gedit, we help teachers understand these key perspectives that can help improve social-emotional learning, academic performance, and classroom culture.
